Getting started with acquiring profitable websites - join the journey

The end or the beginning?

The results of my email announcing the closing of the member site are in. Only about 30% acknowledged the email. No howls of protest. (Do you detect a hint of disappointment in my words?) But certainly some reservations and well wishes.

So I started canceling memberships. This did elicit a response. The rest of the membership wanted to know why they were canceled. They didn't ask for it.

Apparently most did not see the first email. A lesson here as to why you should always mail the same message three times. Some will still miss it but more will see it and hopefully respond. Note: you need not send the exact same email three times - send three different versions that say essentially the same thing.

Back to my members. I explained to each (one time I'm very glad it was a short list) what was going on and why. They are all sad to see this end but they understand.

And so the deed is done. I still have some product to upload to the site. Most of my members paid for three months and I will not shortchange them. I also plan on allowing them access to the site for as long as possible.

So what's next? Will I buy another site? Do something else? Well, I'm not entirely done yet but I have nothing specific to add just yet.

Please stop back next week for an update.

Andy
