How to write headlines for your listing

Saw this post on Travis's site today: How to Write Auction Headlines That Command Attention.

    I thought it made sense:

Put niche, uniqueness, revenue etc in the headline
Don't be illiterate - do a spell check and avoid all caps
    Cut the BS
    etc

Any other suggestions for a headline that captures attention?

    Hi Clinton,

Looks to me like Travis has it down to an art form for this type of sale. As a potential buyer this kind of headline would allow me to quickly decide if the site being auctioned was one I was looking for.

"Cuteness", attention-getting noise, etc. tends to make me wonder what they are hiding.

If I was to add anything, I'd say "be careful what you add".

The problem with this is that it was made for website flipping. All you need in a headline for a solid site is Domain, Niche, Stats (U/PV/REV) - and a filler aka. No Reserve, etc.

Thanks for the plug Clinton. I appreciate it.

@mpcovd: You are correct. The point of the post was to help people craft headlines for two different types of websites. If you look at the post, you'll see I provide a formula for startups and established sites. Your suggestion follows my established website headline formula almost exactly - with the exception of the domain. I only recommend using a domain in the title if it clearly tells the buyer what the site is about or is a unique or premium domain.

No...lol. Just tied up with my time-suck of a blog...lol. I'm realizing that blogging is a lot more work than I bargained for. Oh well, luckily I enjoy the topic.
