ok well i wish to start with nothing
first of all research research research and then more research i guess these will be the keys to success
gaining knowledge and experience is only something one can obtain on his own road
there is soo much junk ,scams,rubbish and misinformation it could send a sane man insane
i am a true believer in to understand success watch them who are successful, as a kung fu practitioner how is it possible for me to learn unless i train with those who are at a higher level.
so i am calling from the pools of all your experience .. if you knew what you know now and were to start out all over from scratch with nothing how would you go about ?
i would love to see everyone respond

I now know what works (for me) so if I could go back to when I started making websites I would be a bit more focused and less hesitant. I would have made more of the stuff I'm making now. I'd also know what not to waste my time and money on.

I'd say spend a lot of time looking for a genuine business and less time obsessing
1. Decide a small budget you can afford to gamble with
2. Look, look, look - that's 90% of the work, but you will get faster at it
3. Look in multiple locations and not just Flippa and DP and the broker sites and the businesses for sale sites
4. Strip out all the junk and concentrate on genuine businesses, established over a long time, even if they are making only very little profit
5. Take the leap - you have to do this at some point
6. Keep working to improve the site (not just the earnings)

I would say that Clinton gave you some great advice, but I would like to add a few things to shorten the pain of starting out.

1- You will have a much better chance of success, if you build a team of people to work with that are good at what they do. Make sure you get a written agreement between all parties. For example, it would be a great idea to have a programmer unless that is one of your strong poings.
2- You will need leverage. Getting offshore help that is reliable is one of the key points to making it work.
3- If your budget is small, focus on building awesome content and do it quickly.

well ive been on the phone for the last few days trying to find web design courses or web designers who would take on a trainee and with little joy. I bought myself dreamweaver for dummies lol
also got web designer magazine so time to hit the books
