The simplest solution is to leave the tech stuff to the tech people, but you don't have to give them equity. Most of the work in front of you is off-site. On site work like adding the Google Analytics code I could do for you. Once you've got the site buzzing away nicely you can hire in tech people (pretty cheap nowadays) to make onsite changes.

Well, don't! Writing is only part of the story as you would have worked out from previous posts. Drumming up support and traffic and members is more than just writing.

Andy, you're probably right about using some non-free database for the site and there would be other issues, but that discussion is pretty far off topic since the OP won't be able to do it, and there are much more important things to do to resurrect interest in this site.
