NEW: Use These Forums To Sell Your Services

    Whoa, whoa!

OK, it's not a fundamental shift in how this forum operates, but more of a balancing of what we currently offer. Those who provide due diligence service are listed here. I'm now announcing a similar facility for members who sell other services such as SEO, web development, teaching flipping, copywriting, programming, marketing etc. There is still no charge to anyone and I'm not making anything out of it.

    Why?
A lot of my efforts on this board are directed towards benefitting members and this is one way I feel I could add value to your businesses. Bear in mind that for every registered person who visits these boards on the average day we have 5-10 non-registered visitors ...and rising. Many of these readers develop an immediate trust in the recommendations made here and some of them are actively looking for the services you offer.

    Who can list?
Anybody with a certain level of posts. Bear in mind that readers of the thread are still going to be judging you from what you've said in posts! Your listing will have your user name, say what you do and provide a link to your profile / posts. Readers will be encouraged to follow you and read your posts to decide if you know what you're talking about.

Listing is optional. If you'd like to be listed you need to let me know. At any time you can ask to be removed from the list.

    How It Works
It'll work on the lines of the due diligence thread. Members who have a higher number of posts may get more prominent exposure.

I appreciate that two people with an identical post count may have a vastly different quality of contributions. I'm going to leave quality judgements to those who are looking for your services. So if you're selling a site-flipping book for example, your articulate defence of site-flipping in all the anti-flipping threads could work to your advantage.

Readers looking for a particular service would be pointed to this thread. They'd pick out someone who's listed as a provider of the service they want. They'll follow the links to read his/her posts and then PM that person. If you have a signature link they could follow that to find out more about you and what you offer. Note: All signatures must be compliant with Rule 6.

    What services will be listed?
Any relevant service which in my opinion is well reflected in the posts you've made. If you're providing a brokerage service for sale of websites, for example, but have zero posts on the topic of brokers or site selling, I don't think it helps to point readers to your posts.

    Your feedback? Any questions?

    Thanks for this.

Thanks, Andy, but it doesn't look like there's a lot of support for the idea

Clinton, I think it's a great idea as we should take advantage of the different skillsets that people bring to this forum, and I would rather hire someone from here than a random person selling their services elsewhere, but I don't think many people on here actively sell services to clients.

I know I don't, even though I would be happy to work with or for any of the regular posters here.

I support the idea, but personally I don't know what type of service to pitch to the people here.

benetiz17, there are people here who do programming, SEO, copywriting, internet marketing / PPC, site building and development (everything from templates to ecommerce solutions to article writing to setting up WP), consulting, broking, graphic designing, hosting .... you name it.

I can immediately think of at least twenty members whose posts provide a good indication of where their strengths lie, though it wouldn't be appropriate to list their names here and the skills I believe they have. But I can list some of the services that I think would make for sub headings in the thread
    - Installing, configuring, tweaking and moving Wordpress blogs
    - Creative: graphic designing, article writing/commissioning /distribution, sales copy, general copywriting services
    - SEO: Site analysis, niche and keyword searches, link building...
    - Web design
    - Technical: Programming, sorting out technical problems on sites, dabase help, moving sites
    - Web development: Building sites to order, improving existing sites
    - Broking, assisting with the selling of a site
    - Consulting: Everything from use of social networking to monetising sites

Clinton, I knew that people here have a diverse set of talents, but it sounds like the impression that I have received from many of them that they are not offering those services for sale to others is incorrect.

I hope that some people do take you up on your offer, because I am considering hiring someone to manage an affiliate program for one of my websites (because I have had little success doing it myself), and I'd rather work with someone from here.

It would be great if this topic is implemented. I signed up here for the purpose of promoting my project which is in the area of building websites. I was willing to provide my service for free using the system I'm developing but was reminded by Clinton that this was not allowed. I hope this will change.

Then you signed up for the wrong reasons, tomw.

If we do implement this resources thread it'll be for the people who signed up to share and learn, people taking active part in the discussions. I don't see it as and it won't be promoted as a way for anyone and everyone to advertise on these forums. Readers will be encouraged, like we do on the due diligence thread, to choose a provider based on the quality of their posts in the area of their claimed expertise.

Clinton, I originally signed up to promote my site and you had a word with me and I left. Now I'm back because this forum is actually useful. Maybe reward good users... for example, those who post over X amount of posts are allowed to put a link in their signature or in a post? Just a thought.
