    Hello from Detroit Michigan

Hello. I'm Dave, 34, married with 2 kids (Nate 5, Erin 2). I have been a full time IM/SEM for the past 2 years, and been making money online for the last 5.

In the last year I have purchased and built 90 new sites. I have purchased from Flippa, DP, and other forums privately. I have built wordpress and html sites. Primarily my business model is selling direct advertising, combined with affiliate commissions.

I love the hunt. I love finding the needle in the haystack. I still look for more sites, even though I am overwhelmed as a one man show with 100+ and have another 200+ domains that I should figure out what to do with.

I am at a crossroads right now and have not decided which path I want to take. I have never had to sell anything to anyone. I sell advertising to clients who contact my sites. I have sold 2 sites, both of which were unsolicited. I like this but am getting a little bored.

I am not sure how I found this forum but I am glad I did. I have much to learn if I want to flip or broker or sell, and from what I have read so far there is a great collection of people and experiences here to learn from. I see some familiar faces from a private forum I have been apart of for 2 years now. I've been lurking the last week or so and have to say the level of information provided by Clinton and others here is pretty amazing. great job with this site Clinton, the signal to noise factor here is pretty amazing considering the open forum.

    It's addictive, isn't it?

Hi Dave, great to have you here

Thanks for such a great opening post. I'm in a similar boat to you with a lot of sites, not having to sell anything except take orders when people email requesting to buy links, and I am a little bored . I've also got young kids of a similar age to yours and have been a full time online earner for about five years.

It looks like we can learn a lot from you too. I'm looking forward to you starting a thread or three.

    Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum. I've got an aunt and cousins in the Pontiac area - but I won't hold that against you. :-) I'm anxious to hear about your experiences.

    Andy

What's the crossroads, Dave? You thinking of disposing of some sites/changing how you earn money online?

Hey Clinton, sorry I missed your question.

I have felt for a while I need to focus on something...says the guy with 130 sites and ADD/ADHD lol.

Since my intro post I have started:

    nichedomains - to sell domains
    buynichesites - to sell sites
nicheads - for proactively selling ad space
nichearticles - for selling article hosting / blog posts

I see these all as possibilities in the future. Of course none of them are finished, but was not a total waste of time. It really helped flush out some new ideas and helped me figure out what I want to do. I also met a few like minded people with similar resources, and my "army" has now doubled in size.

I've been a cog in the wheel for a while now, and I always thought I would do what I do until I get enough recurring income so that I can do one big site/important/1 main site. What I found is that I am doing exactly what I want to do right now, which does not involve trying to sell sites or domains. I'm closer to being setup when the time comes to sell either, but I'm not in any hurry. I'm still building and buying more sites now lol.

Dave, you certainly look like you've got your hands full.

These like minded people, are they working with you or just friends who share your philosophy? If the latter, hopefully you can find a few here on the forums too.
