Website in need of new home....

    Evening

Ive been thinking about selling one of my sites kentfind.co.uk.

Can anyone shed any light on what it may be worth and also where i could sell it in the least amount of time/hassle. I'll try to give as much info as i can think of.....

    UV
10,000 - 11,000 each month for several years.

    Income:
Adsence - anywhere from £4 to £9 per day
Premium Listings (advertising space on the site) - one or two premium listings MOST weeks so between £100 and £400 per month.

    PR4

Alexa rank (dont know if this is relevant): 373,674

Website Grader Rank (dont know if this is relevant): 94

If theres anything ive left off please let me know.

Any help/guidance would really be appreciated.....ie is it even worth me selling it??

    Thanks

Freeman1974, buyers are usually keen to get a clear picture on the earnings and the amount of time required to run the business.

Personally, when I see £4-£9 a day, I do my calculation based on £4 a day and work it out as £120 pm. To that I would add £100 per month for the advertising. For £220 a month, unless it were completely self-running, many buyers wouldn't be interested in taking it over. If they had to spend 10 hours a month, most would still feel the returns weren't worth buying into. The ones who would be prepared would bid based on the amount of time they think the site needs to manage - I'd say anywhere from £1500 - £3000.

There are lots of things a seller can do to improve the perceived value of his site and get higher bids.

When listing a site, it's far better to quote average earnings for the last twelve months than to quote a wide range of daily income. It takes a bit more time to compile these figures, but then nobody said that selling site is a five minute job. Some larger sites takes weeks of full time owner work and even a small site can eat up hours or days of time to compile stats, describe what's on offer, do the auction listing, answer questions etc. The more time you spend in the initial stages compiling information and stats, the less time you'll spend answering the same questions again and again via PMs.

Thanks for the reply and the tips Clinton.

I'll try to refine the stats and report back.

Just to confirm - the site takes barely 5 mins per day to run.

Would you recommend flippa for a site like this??

    Thanks again

    Hey Freeman,

If flippa might be fine, but I almost think this work better if sold to someone local. There's a lot of UK people in this forum - even I have a few UK contacts - if you don't mind giving me a day or so, I might be able to find a prospective buyer.

Sure I'd use Flippa. It's probably the best place for a site like this.

I look forward to your stats.

Quick update - Clinton, sorry for delay, had a busy week but i havnt forgotten about these stats.

One thing i have done since the last post is email several of my 'competition' to tell them it may be for sale and ive had 2 very good responses! One is an enquiring about just buying all my data. The other (a well known national directory!) has enquired about either them coming in as partners, or they may just buy it lock stock and barrel!

    Interesting times ahead!
