    Useful Due Diligence Tools

I would be interested in hearing from others what tools they find to be useful in performing due diligence on websites for sale, and more specifically, how these tools should be used.

For example, DomainTools.com can be a very useful tool to see if the person you are buying from is setup to compete against you as soon as they sell you their website. RevereseInternet.com is also a useful tool for performing counter-intelligence, but also discovering things that the seller may not have told you.

What tools do you find useful in performing due diligence?

A highly developed sense of smell for sniffing out scams. A bullshit detector that goes off with the least provocation and a suspicious mind.

We do have a small tool kit included near the end of the EP Guide to DD. The tools are useful but none of them are infallible. Thus they require some judgement and discretion on the part of the user.
