hi my name is julie hoping to work from home with one baby here and another on the way looking to buy a website with minimum funds available found a site by AGTC Business Websolutions Ltd they are new sites and will need marketing and seo but happy to do that as funds are low basically wanted any feedback on any one who has had dealings or bought sites from them I seem to be having trouble contacting them via e mail ( bit concerning ) so considering ringing. I have also looked into turnkey websites with abc design solutions but not convinced with them but was hoping for some info if any one can help

Hi juliefluke, and welcome to experienced-people.net

If you go to companieshouse.gov.uk you can do a check on LTD companies in Britain. I did one on this company. I get:
Status: Active - Proposal to Strike off
    Date of Incorporation: 26/07/2007

    Country of Origin: United Kingdom
    Company Type: Private Limited Company
    Nature of Business (SIC(03)):
7260 - Other computer related activities
    Accounting Reference Date: 31/07
Last Accounts Made Up To: 31/07/2008 (TOTAL EXEMPTION SMALL)
    Next Accounts Due: 30/04/2010 OVERDUE
Last Return Made Up To: 26/07/2008
    Next Return Due: 23/08/2009 OVERDUE
I've highlighted text of concern. The company is overdue with its annual accounts and overdue with its annual returns (list of director names, shareholding etc., that every company needs to submit anually). They are on the verge of being struck off as a company.

I would look elsewhere for a site.

That's the longest sentence I've ever seen, and I'm from yes but no but yes but Doncaster.

Can you tell us what the site is that you're interested in? Without knowing anything about AGTC, the first thing I'd be wondering is how much it would cost to create a similar startup website myself.

looks like I was right to be suspicious though ans will look else where one problem where the only other places I found or out of my budjet and I am not able to create a website myself as I would not know where to start total beginer Im afraid
I do have a information only website witch i can update my self so do need the assistance of a legitimate company if there is one out there to create it for me and teach me how to update it I liked the idea of a drop ship website as no stock to handle.

Is there any particular business area that you're interested in, or are you only considering what these companies offer you?

I don't know anything about Net Businesses For Sale, but if you were to tell us of any specific website you were considering, we could give it the once over.

That website was registered under a month ago, and so far hasn't been indexed by Google, so it's very much a startup. Can you tell us what the price is for that website?

Don't worry, I think I found the price. For a brand new website that has no existing traffic/customers/revenue, £2.5K is a lot of money. Once you buy that site, that's when the hard work starts. You'll need to get traffic to it, and the fact that the site is "search engine optimised" will help little. Many web entrepreneurs create sites like this, but then fail when it comes to marketing them and actually getting The Business.

If you have that kind of money available, it might be better to invest it in a real business that has existing customers, than to throw it at a new venture that might or might not work. Of course, finding existing businesses that work and are for sale is also a challenge!
