    Flippa Customer Service issue

Anyone know who this Martin F guy is? His profile says he's a Flippa admin, but he's a new user and he's only ever made one comment in a listing ever - in my listing telling me in public to post proof of earnings in the thread!

His full name seems to be "Martin Ford", but is he new to this admin/customer service thing? Or is he one of the big guns who doesn't normally deal with mundane customer service issues?

I don't recall having heard of him before. I did find a LinkedIn profile for him though, link. Seems odd that someone from Flippa would make a public comment like that.

Is it a requirement there now that proof of earnings are posted publicly?

If I remember correctly, it has always been a rule that you have to post proof publicly if you are claiming any income. Of course, that doesn't stop fake screenshots, but still.

Most people will just blank out important information or use Flippa's "verified" Analytics/Adsense to keep it more private.

I had a look at the rules again. "Any claims of revenue or traffic in a listing must be supported by evidence". That's it. Maybe they intended that to mean that the evidence needs to be posted in the listing.

    OK, fair enough.

If that's what he was trying to point out to you, in my humble opinion the appropriate way would have been to contact you privately and explain the rule, not just make a curt public post on your listing.

Peter, that's probably what they'd have done if it was someone other than me

Anyway, after a couple of emails to explain that I'm not posting proof publicly, they've agreed to settle for having a private look at the evidence (and perhaps changing the wording of their terms for the future).

I explained I didn't like his comment in my thread. He has checked me out a bit. He has removed the comment.

My suspicions are that people who are rejected from bidding take it personally and try to cause trouble.

Flippa don't really bother about inappropriate comments lately. I've gotten many in my sales listings just saying my figures don't look real, or they "don't think a site like that can make good money". Even with all the figures verified through flippa and all the screenshots uploaded.
Although I don't delete them, I usually try to answer and explain why they are incorrect.. it's very tedious and extremely annoying.
