Flippa launches new starter sites marketplace

Crikey, is there anything that Flippa doesn't do these days?

This week we’re excited to launch Flippa’s Starter Sites marketplace!

When you’re new to the digital investing scene, it can be daunting deciding what site to buy first.

Flippa’s brand new section, “Starter Sites”, was designed to showcase the best newly created websites on Flippa. All under 3 months old, these brand new opportunities have all the groundwork laid for success – all that’s needed now is a new owner to grow and nurture them to their full potential.

It's been a while since I sent an EP forum newsletter - and now they've provided an ideal subject to inspire me. Sign up to our opt-in email newsletter and get a free eBook about starter sites. I'll have to write it first, of course, but never fear... it's coming soon. Definitely before the end of this month. I promise. (Unless something disastrous beyond my control happens.)

I'll give you the email sign up details later this week as we're moving the EP forum list from vB over to MailChimp. (So many things to do!)

It looks to me like Flippa has just created a new page to highlight websites that were already listed in Flippa's auction. In other words, the sites are already in the regular auction and Flippa just gives "the best newly created websites" a little extra hype in this "brand new section."

I had a slightly different perception, David. Given all the criticisms of Flippa and how their listings are stuffed full of low value sites, I'd thought it might be a way to put a positive spin on segregating them into their own exciting new area whilst pleasing those who are looking for more established sites. Like you, I don't think that Flippa listing starter sites is a new thing. After all, they're been specialising in MFF (Made For Flippa) sites for a long time. It's just a new way of marketing it to make it seem new and interesting. It should also please those who are fed up of wading through the junk.

But you can't please everyone all the time, perhaps the losers will be those who sell courses and tools to find the gems among the junk. Oh, don't tell me, maybe Flippa will be launching its own tool to do that too next week. LOL.

The other losers will be those who buy without understanding what exactly they're buying and thus skimping on their due diligence.

Aargh. Why did I have to open my big mouth and promise to write a book about starter sites by the end of the month?
