How are they doing peria1949? Are they getting any traffic?

If there is a possibility that you might change their design, now might be the time to do it before you have so many pages that the task becomes unwieldy. It's just that I remember what you were saying about the design on your other site that has > 100 pages.

My other sites are about 6 months old and they are so ..so not worth mentioning. My first site which I am planning to sell has around 107 pages. My hosting company 'sitebuildit' has plans in December 2010 to change from 2 column to 3 column with a click of a button and I am waiting for it.My other sites are getting around 300 uniques per month.

I would ask why did you suddenly lose the passion for what I assume was your pet subject? Was it because you didn't make money, perhaps because you felt it wasn't getting the recognition it deserved, or what?

Have you thought about giving your site a facelift. A new logo, for example, could reignite your enthusiasm. Any chance of getting guest articles or postings? Have you got an easy to use CMS? There's not much that's as demotivating as a site that's a real chore to update.

I think,it is a temporary phase which will pass.A month's rest may recharge my mental batteries which needed a break any way.I have already started having the itch and the inner pressure to continue no matter what.I am now rethinking about selling my site.Already the adsense plavcements as suggested by
'aarrgghh' has started showing results which is encouraging though I could do only a few pages.I am sure that once I complete all the pages I may see more improvement.

I say to you what i said in another topic and i quote:

Think of things you like, things that exist where you are, things that you like to know more. After that register a domain. A .com and not a .co

If you create a site about a topic you like your chances of success increase a lot. And in my opinion, donīt look for keyword domains in niche markets. Buy a brandable domain. And invest time on this new site. And more time. And it will work.

You are too worried about the wrong things. You have a site with no visitors or very few. With worry so much about monetization?!? If must plan your strategy of how you are going to monetize site off course. But first get visitors. And preferably visitors that want to come back because your content or your service was good.
As you can see you admit topic is boring. Thatīs it. Change topics. Donīt create dozens of sites but one or two and let them grow naturally.

Congratulations! How did you determine which changes were needed and where to place the ads for better performance?

The temptation is to leave things as they are, but if you get into the habit of tweaking little things here and there you can get closer to maximising your revenue potential. The trick now is to not just accept the increase but keep trying different placements/colours. Keep going back to the setup that gives the best CTR, and then test it against new ones.

To me its all about being practical and as passionless as possible, but that's just me. I build and seo websites for myself, which I then sell or for other people for a fee. To me its all business and numbers. Sure if I get a big job or sell a site for nice money, I'm happy, but this is a job, not life in general.

I've also found that making a connection between offline clients and online projects makes this business more palatable, at least for me. I can't sit in front of the computer all day and just communicate via email or even skype.......I need to get out and see clients.

I know exactly what you mean, I had the same frustrations when I started out as well. I find if I don't "fall in love" with my sites things flow much easier. No one is always right, so when you do miscalculate, you can walk away from the site with out a problem.

    Good Luck to you
