    Hello everyone

Hello! I saw this forum mentioned over at Prosperly and decided to pop in for a visit.

I'm Vikram, 34 and I run a small Internet based business. I've worked as a Systems/Network Administrator for 12 years with various companies before I got fed up with the same routine everyday and took the big decision to strike out on my own. I've been running my internet based business for close to two years now and have been reasonable successful. Now, instead of dreading the next day at work, I'm very enthusiastic about what a new day will bring.

Some of the things I do now include buying and selling domains and websites, some affiliate marketing (not a lot) and a bit of web design and search engine optimization for local clients. If I find something that interests me, I'm not averse to giving it a go.

Now that I've registered here, I hope to pick up some tips as well as share some of my experiences online. I have a fair bit of expertise with web design, wordpress and web hosting, so feel free to send me a message anytime. I see one or two familiar names from other forums where I'm active, so I feel quite comfortable already

Most of my friends call me Vikz, so I invite you all to do the same.

Thank you hooperman. I've been here a short while and have already picked up some useful knowledge that I can put to use immediately.

I'm working on half a dozen things at the moment which is pretty much par for the course I'm in the midst of setting up a web hosting business which will tie in nicely with the web designing I do for local clients. I have also identified a potential customer base to market my web hosting. This is my top priority at the moment.

I also have a few domains and websites that some potential buyers are showing interest in, so that's keeping me occupied at present.

Hi Vikz and welcome to experienced-people.net

I have a fair bit of expertise with web design, wordpress and web hosting
Why don't you start an info thread with some less known facts about any of those or a guide for newbies in our Website 101? I'm sure they'd find something written by an expert like you very useful.

Every now and then a web hosting "business" comes up for sale on Flippa. I always believed that this was a mega competitive area to get into, but I can see that if you can use existing business and contacts (like your web design + existing clients), that would make it a lot easier.
