Arrrggh, I'm biting the bullet and reducing my site collection

As some of you know, I want to spend more time with my mortgage/loan/CC/insurance network and focus on that.

I'm looking to raise a total of about $150K, reduce my portfolio and divest myself of some sites that I meant to do lots with but never got around to. I'll probably sell a few more sites in a second round.

I'll provide more details on these sites in due course and/or list them in Flippa or with brokers, but here's a headsup for you guys.

http://swfmaestro.com (together with http://chameleonflash.com, associated domains & IP rights)
http://pctechguide.com (PR6, really old tech site, used to have 25+ PR6 pages till the last PR update)
http://ramblingsoul.com (PR6, web design, free CSS templates)
http://getfreewebdesigns.com (PR7, web design, free templates)

They are all earning sites and have been around a while. Together they probably make me about $8K - $10K a month. (That's a guesstimate as I haven't put any figures together yet but will do so in the next week or two). I'm sorry to let go of each of those - some of you would know the feeling - but I just have far, far too many sites and in too many diverse sectors.

I have had a few PMs. To answer those and questions any other interested parties may have, I would like to add

    1. I don't have the earning stats, traffic etc., and I will get them together in the next week or two. I will make further posts in here when I have news

    2. I haven't decided price. I will let the market set this. I may or may not set reserves/BINs, I haven't decided yet.

    3. I will not assist anyone with valuing these sites. That doesn't make sense. The last person you want valuing the site is the seller. I've written a lot about how sites are valued and have some experience in valuing sites, but even if you trust me to be impartial I'll have to decline. I argue against conflict of interests elsewhere, I'm not going to take on such a conflict myself. Besides, valuing is a personal thing. Every buyer needs to value based on his own expectation/calculation of what profit he can make from the site.

Hi Clinton, great sites there, wish you luck with sales!

All sounds fair, but I'm a bit surprised you don't have stats. I'm sure with your experience you appreciate the importance of keeping good track of your assets and monitor stats frequently
I guess it might be complicated with some sites though as there are many revenue channels.

    Thanks for the good wishes.

The bigger and more important the sites are to me the more care I take over stats. With sites that are worth just a few hundred, I am a bit complacent. But I didn't say I don't have stats, I have more than enough to satisfy buyers

The delay is partly because there are multiple revenue sources, yes, and the different ways in which the earnings are tracked. With one affiliate program, for example, they don't seem to have a way on their site for getting month by month history of earnings. I have to dig out my bank statements for the last year some of which are with my accountant. With some traffic stats, I have them archived on another hard disk that I left behind at my cousin's place when I was on holiday. Stuff like that is what's causing the delay. I just thought I'd give members here some advance notice while I organise all that.

Hey Clinton, did any of these sell? Quite interested in pctechguide and ramblingsoul depending on how much they make, and therefore cost.

Something tells me they might be out of my budget range though!

I haven't put them up yet, ian. I've been busy with other stuff. Will try and make the time this week to get all the data together and write up the descriptions.

Apologies again, I still haven't put the data together.

In the meanwhile, I must state that pctechguide.com is no longer available, it's been sold. Here's the original auction at Flippa for reference. I can't disclose the exact price I've sold for, but I'll be taking home a bit more now than indicated by the max bid in the auction. The buyer is a very tech and web savvy individual and the owner of other tech businesses. I have no doubt he'll do extremely well with this and I wish him all the best.

Thanks to all those who expressed interest and sent PMs enquiring about this site.

Within 24 hours. I promise. I'll have the details put together for at least one or two of those sites.

I have now received payment for pctechguide.com so that sale is complete.

With the money from that and the others sites I'm selling here I may finally treat myself to a Boxster or even a 911 ...so I do have a good reason to get off my butt and get this moving.
