    Every site I have every bought has had its Adsense changed immediately and I've never seen any negative impact, in fact this year when I buy sites from US owners and get the numbers in GBP it's more common than not for it to go up {shrug}

    Theres a possibility of a problem - if advertisers are targeting channels then when those channels change/disappear (which they will when the adsense id is changed) the targetting will vanish until the advertisers find the site again (if they do) so the ecpm could drop
    But penalty from google? Nup, IMHO.

    There could also be an accountwide smartpricing factor at play. The SP "adjustment" made to a site's earnings could vary based on the footprint of the rest of the account.

    This, I'll admit, is the matter of some debate and not everybody agrees on it.

    I don't see any reason for a penalty just because the site has changed hands... but a sudden drop in earnings could be viewed as a penalty by some.

    There's a more detailed discussion of this in the VIP Lounge thread.
