Valued an adult site once.
All profits were made on subscriptions.
And the subsciptions were garnered through paid advertising, affiliate advertising and the sites blog. Other expenses were for the photographers (content providers I believe they were) and payment systems. I believe the owner spent 20 hours a week work on the site (he was going out and taking photos too)
So it can be a lot of work to keep the content fresh for members. But if I recall operating margins are still pretty good, something like 70%. or more.
He was making some good money, theres definitely good money to be made in porn! But I suspect its important as on the web to find a 'niche' within the industry
