SiteFlipU? What a small world. I actually own SiteFlipU.com but I had no idea it has such a tainted history...lol. This is hilarious. I was basically given the site when the previous owner had done nothing with it and didn't want anything to do with it except get rid of it and recoup some of his costs from buying it. I got the site so cheap that I was going to fix it up a little and then flip it again but after I purchased it, I realized there wasn't much there. Rather than spend any time or money on it, I just let it sit. I won't reveal what I paid for it but suffice to say, you can buy turnkey/startup sites for more than what I paid. The funny thing is, the guy I bought it from became a good friend of mine and does all my design and development work now so the purchase of that site was a huge plus to my business in a totally different way.
But back to the question...it's definitely still a hot topic. Trust me. Just spend some time over at the Warrior Forum and you'll see. And take a look at all the site flipping sites on Flippa in the past few months. I personally think the whole idea of getting rich quick flipping websites is a joke. However, I think the practice of buying and selling websites is as valid a business model as buying and selling domains. I personally only sell sites when I get bored with them (which happens a lot) and I need an infusion of cash. And I only buy when I get the itch to get into a totally new market but don't want to spend the time starting from scratch.
