EXCLUSIVE: itsect - Automate Finding Websites + Filtering Them Based On Your Criteria

Exclusive as in nobody knows this is available for sale yet.

It's a tool that trawls all the main marketplaces, collects data on websites for sale, collects all the main metrics like revenue and selling price and lists them all for easy browsing.

It's a startup and has not reached break even. It's up to you to decide whether you think you can make it profitable - the owner has found himself otherwise occupied and has run out of time.

    itsect.com
    What's for sale:
The domain, site and all the coding
    Price: Open to offers

Anyone seeing value here is seeing it in the coding, of course.

I'll admit, it kinda fits in with what I do and would make sense to add it on as a free tool to either these forums or this related site. But I have neither the money nor the time at present and I don't like taking on sites that have coding I don't understand - partly as I'm not a programmer myself and partly because I find it too much bother to manage a third party managing code someone else created.

Hi all, I am the owner of ITSect.com and SiteSnipe, which are both up for sale here. Thanks to Clinton for listing the sale. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

    John,

If you don't mind keeping the discussion out in the open.

Why are you looking to sell?
What ballpark figure are you looking at?

    Sure.

Why are you looking to sell?
    - Unfortunately there are a few reasons. #1 - This is a part time gig for me and I just don't have time for it. I'm getting married in November and getting my CPA license for M&A work and just don't have the bandwidth to market this thing the way it needs. #2 - I don't have the resources to sustain and promote SiteSnipe. The software requires less than $500 per month to run and brings in $59 monthly per user, but I need positive cash flow right now.

What ballpark figure are you looking at?
    - I'll be frank. I have invested $5,000 in the project - between web design, backend data entry, and marketing. I developed the package by myself so didn't have to invest in development costs. Obviously, I am not looking to cover costs 100%. The site brings in $59 per month currently (and has another member on the way), which would bring it to $118. It's only going to take 6-7 more members to break even. It would be easy to turn SiteSnipe profitable in the right hands. The site is only 5 months old and has a lot of room for growth. All of that said, I am asking $3,500. I'd also be willing to negotiate a lower selling price for a monthly commission agreement.

Hope that helps. Reach out with any other questions!

what are the $500 per month spent on?
    - There are several categories.
Data Gathering: $301.92 (This is a manual process by a team to gather listings daily. They are trained well to find listings and enter relevant data into a system which I developed. From there, the data is bounced against several sources to compile a complete listing with stats, analytics, revenue, etc.)
Domain Data: $100 (subscription to URL trends API)
    Hosting: $30
    SSL: $4.16

how frequently does it update the listings and how does it work: desktop/server side?
    - Updated are processed daily and average about 100 per day, although that is not always guaranteed. I have to stay pretty tight on the team lead. The software is online and subscription-based. It is PHP frontend with MySQL backend and multiple cron jobs doing updates/scrubbing data/etc.

Could you explain? Is it that they're constantly slacking off?

Clinton, I did not sign a formal SLA with the team. They are not always consistent with the total numbers of listings added each day. I have a report that runs on a daily basis which shows how many listing they have added, and I do a periodic check-in with the team lead to identify any problems.

All, the site is still up for sale. I am willing to come down on price if necessary. Please feel free to reach out with offers.

Thanks, john. Could you give some idea of promotion done so far, number of people who visit, who have free trials, traffic this month and where that traffic comes from. I appreciate they won't be high figures and am not expecting them to be.

    Sure Clinton.

Promotion: The only promotion so far has been some article marketing and reaching out to some site owners for demos. I have not done any additonal marketing due to time constraints.

Visitors: ITSect.com has received 2,000 visits since it started and averages only 10 visits per day currently. Traffic comes from search mainly. I also ran some PPC campaigns for a short period.

Free Trials: Currently there are 16 active users, 1 with paid account (and 1 with anticipated paid account starting next week) and 14 with free trials.
