Gotcha! Site claiming $1200, actually making $0

Just saw this listing in Flippa. He claims $1200 per month.

OK, not much of a listing and with very little detail. People asked him to prove the income but he didn't bother.

Privately, elsewhere, he admitted to me that it makes nothing.

In other threads Flippa has been discussing how they'll stop listings like this but what's the earthly use of giving Flippa $19, not bothering to provide any detail about the site for sale and expecting to get away with that $1,200 per month claim?

Why do people do this? It's not like he's some Johnny Come Lately. He had another site, an emailmeform site, which could have got some decent money. But neither I, nor the person I know who's currently considering emailmeform, believes this chap anymore.

I'm probably being naive, but I really don't understand why this guy would possibly have created this listing? As you say, Clinton, it seems like nothing more than a waste of his money - which suggests to me that there's something else going on. He previously appeared to be legitimate and then put up what looks to be one of the worst listings ever. Can anyone explain this?

Not that long ago I recall seeing some forum posts elsewhere with people asking to buy Flippa accounts or pay to use someone elses...something to that effect anyway.
