Open the bubbly, we got a link from johnchow! sensely.com

    This DP thread.

    His title says: Sensely.com | 2 Years Old + Backlink from JohnChow.com

So the JohnChow link is the highlight of his sale?

He doesn't have millions of dollars in earnings to boast about, but surely even the 38 "human written" articles is more likely to get someone to click through to read his auction? Then there's the 400 incoming links...

We've seen examples of exaggerations in the title, but what honest titles in your opinion work best to attract attention?

Sorry, I'm going off the plot here, but I laughed at the URL receiving the most traffic - "is marijuana a cure for insomnia" lol.

I can't think of any honest titles that grab the attention, but I can think of loads of cliches that are on my ignore list ("rare opportunity" etc).

Yeah, from hooperman's post I did get the impression he had some inside "dope" on this.

It might be the best course of action if you're coked up to the eyeballs and you need to be up for work in the morning.

Low BIN works on me. But if I see the site and don't consider the BIN to be low for what's on offer I'm peeved. lol.

    Thanks, Michelle.

Highlights are a plus. Picking out the strongest 2-3 points of your sale and shrinking that into the title does wonders. This "no reserve" seems to be catching on.

Yes, I can see that if the auction doesn't match the title it would annoy the visitor as it comes across as deceptive.

Which brings me to credibility. Is there any way to build credibility in the site or the seller via a carefully crafted title?

Everyone else - is there any title that you can give as an example of one that caught your immediate attention (for the right reasons)?

I like to read the type of site and size in the title. PR3 Soccer Blog. $5k/yr Cell Accessories Store. etc.
