Has anyone sold any links or bought any links from V7N

The V7N network claims to get you permanent, contextual, incontent links for $40 a go and they apparently have a lot of publishers.

    Do they?

I remember speaking with John when he started the service, but never got around to trying it out.

Have any of you bought or sold any links at V7N?

Nope. Having had one site get a hard kick up the bottom from G for selling links via TLA, I don't do that kind of stuff now. Never heard of V7N anyway.

I have never used V7N, and I don't sell or buy permanent links.

I don't buy links, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't pay $40 for a link on a site that I can't see first (I think this is what happens). [Edited - on reading the FAQ they have a network of bloggers not their own sites]. I'd rather approach site/blog owners in my niche directly and ask to do a guest post/blog/giveaway or just submit some articles to ezine for free.

V7N is legit. Of course you're not going to get a link on Techcrunch, lol, but it is not nearly as bad as meathead says. Dunno why people spout off like that when they've never used a service.

Excuse my Ignorance but is it not 40$ per link a bit costly?
I have seen many people do paid blog/forum commenting for a lot less money. What is it that you pay when you purchase links from those guys? I have just went through their site, faq et cetera.
They have a network of publishers as they call it and, It seems they pay 10$ to a blog owner within that network so he posts a link they give them, while they recieve 40$ from each client.
Wouldn't it be better for the client to seek relevant blogs on his own?

I dont bash their services, I just dont understand them. Do they simply play the role of the middleman in buying/selling links like freelancer plays the role of the middleman in outsourcing?

Yes, they are the middleman. Text link brokers get away with charging high fees because it is a pain to go out and negotiate with individual site owners if you want to buy ads in bulk.

If this is a blind link network, they are charging pretty high rates. If it's not, they're more reasonable, especially if the link is truly permanent. I might sign up and see what the fuss is about.

I once paid $3000 for a link and it was worth every cent of it.

I am not bashing the paid link companies. I don't know how they work, but I would wonder how hard it would be if you run google analytics on your site for google to work out you have paid links on your site.

Do the link companies have bots to check the links are live?
If so google could easily put 1 and 2 together.

I know when the smacked TLA sites they just checked the code of the sites. I am not saying Google is doing this but surely the amount of time they are chasing down paid links it has been a thought in their arsenal.
