    Your Fun/Different List 2011

I have been reading/listening to a lot of books lately and one of them (I can't find it now) suggested instead of making a New Years Resolution, making a Fun/Different List of stuff to do.

    For example

Try a food you have never eaten before (this can be an individual food or a meal)
Try a drink you have never drunk before (this can be alcoholic/non alcoholic/a single juice/a cocktail)
Visit a place you have never been to (town/city/park/forest/castle/pool/pub)
Watched a film/tv show that you would never ever watch
Gone to a pub/club/band/concert of a type you would never normally go to
Visited a person you would never visit
Played a game you would never normally play

You get the idea, something you do once that you would never normally do. My question is what would be on your list?

I am thinking this year I will

    Try a new food
    Try a new drink
Visit somewhere I have never been before (this one is a bit hard I do a lot of traveling)
I have always wanted to go to my daughters place and visit the fridge 10 times in 2 minutes, then turn every light on in the house and leave every door open.
Give a bunch of flowers to a total stranger (not sure how the missus will like that one)
Put $100 in an envelope and leave it in a pensioners letterbox with a note saying please spend this on something you will enjoy

I could probably go on but I actually want to complete these things and I think that is a good start.

Re: the flowers - my wife tolerates this odd behavior as long as she is with me.
Re: giving pensioners gifts - a waste of time, they pass anything extra that they get on to their grandchildren.
Re: visiting daughter's fridge. Get ten items, leave in car outside. At two minute intervals, interrupt conversation, go to car, get one item, take it indoors and place it in the fridge, resume conversation.

One thing I used to do when I was young was get a roamer ticket on the railway for a day, and see how far I could get ...

This is a tough one for me as I'm always trying new foods, drinks, places.

I like railway journeys so the best I can come up with would be to go on a railway journey I haven't been on before. That's a pretty feeble response to a great question. Must try harder.

Keep trying to pay it forward.

Not sure if my wife would be so tolerant lol. What the person does with the money I honestly don't mind as long as they get some enjoyment out of it. If they spend it on marbles and throw them at the politicians then great lol Yeah I just have to time the visit to my daughters without my wife she wouldn't see the funny side of me doing that lol That's the thing I used to do spontaneous fun things when I was younger, one weekend me and my friends decided we should drive to perth some 1300miles or 2100km just for something to do, we got there and decided to drive straight back lol.

Sounds great kay, I have been on all of Australias railways except the alice to darwin section. I went on the thailand bangkok metro system which was excellent and completely different to here.

Well I did all of mine except the bunch of flowers still trying to work out how to do that one.

The daughter was less than impressed when she worked out what I was doing lol but I found it funny.
I gave the $100 to a little old lady down the street, not sure what she did with it, I just hope she enjoyed whatever she did with it.
I went to china never had been there before.

Now to think of some more stuff to do. I went to do a train trip here but the costs blew me away, I went on the underground in thailand and on all the trains in Hong kong including the underground that was pretty cool.

The flowers one is still on I reckon.
Travel to cambodia or vietnam? The wife wants to go to France so maybe there instead. I want to try the Deep Fried Tarantula suggested by Kay would be something cool to eat. Kopi Luwak coffee might be something to taste as a drink but I don't know where to go to find it mind you I haven't looked. I reckon going swimming in the worlds highest pool would be something cool as well.
I got out of bed today staring at a ghost. Who forgot to float away, didnt have all that much to say. Wouldn't even tell me his own name.

Got me stumped again, grynge. I think the weirdest and most fun thing I could imagine doing this year is to meet you! You keep threatening to do it but we've never seen you yet. I don't believe you exist.

We have met people in real life after meeting them online before. It's mostly been great, although there have been a couple of unexpected incidents. I 'met' a guy on a business-related forum and coincidentally we were going to be in Bangkok at the same time as him and his wife. We arranged to meet up.

About ten minutes after we met, we were sitting at an outside table of a pub, deep in conversation about online business etc. Then a big fat man dressed as a pumpkin suddenly emerged from the pub and batted me on the head with an inflatable club. I was trying to act normal as if I hadn't noticed and nothing had happened and continued with the conversation about websites. (The pumpkin-man has been a friend for 20+ years, and was on his way to a fancy dress party, so it was nothing to worry about. Just strange for the people I'd only met ten minutes earlier.)

I would like to be rich enough to go on a luxury cruise, have more opportunities to meet online friends, and maybe even get as far as Australia one of these years.

I gave the $100 to a little old lady down the street, not sure what she did with it, I just hope she enjoyed whatever she did with it.
I bought a lottery ticket and gave it to a beggar thinking they would be pleased at the chance of winning a fortune but they were very angry and shouted at me as though I'd given them a dog turd or something.

Never actually been to the Marina Sands Bay yet, but we did stay in a high floor of a hotel directly across the bay and got some photos of it. Dave and I watched a documentary about how the place was built. Incredible!
