Came across this article with some thoughts on how the G might calculate PR. Thought it might be of some use or at least fodder for discussion.

Please note I have NO idea about the validity of this person's reasoning. When it comes to stuff like this - I just look and try to pick up a useful tidbit or two.

I believe the article was written in 2005, but the explanation and the guide seem authentic and mostly valid even today.

Since 2005 the scenario has changed significantly. I believe that PR plays a lower role in determining SERPs than it used to, and that there are two PRs - toolbarPR and algoPR.
