    Nice Problem To Have

I bought a domain last November that had the name of a product. I'm using it to promote that product using Commission Junction. It's doing well

Imagine my horror when this morning I checked my Google Analytics stats to discover that some fiend is sending traffic to my site using Adwords. And without my permission. Knowing my luck, that traffic is probably converting, too.

Question: how can I find what phrases this cad is using in his Adwords campaign? Is there a way? I'm a complete PPC newb.

Great tools, thanks Clinton! Keyword Spy seems quite powerful.

I think these tools are more geared towards people who have some keywords to research but I don't have those I've tried the obvious one, but no joy with that.

Oh well, I'll just have to put up with my anonymous benefactor's gifts for now

    anonymous benefactor's
Sometimes it's just an accident. Sometimes there's an ulterior motive. When in doubt suspect ulterior motive (and mess with his stats)

Maybe I'm reading the question wrong. Are you trying to figure out which keywords they are bidding on or what their ad copy is? If the first case, can't you just click on the link you circled above? For the second case, couldn't you type in those keywords to see if your website shows up in the ads?

I tried clicking the circled link, but it just said "not set". I'm guessing that my Google Analytics account would have to be linked to the Adwords account to see any campaign details. I've tried searching for keywords associated with the product, but my site never shows. I've tried using custome reporting in GA to find what keywords bring traffic from that source, but no look with that either.

If whoever it is discovers their mistake and ends he campaign, I wouldn't mind having some details about how to replicate it myself.

Well I have a Google Analytics account not linked to the adwords account, and I can still see the keywords. Here is some more info on "not set" though. http://analytics.blogspot.com/2009/0...t-entries.html

Thanks for the link ClaytonL. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me find any information about the Adwords campaign that is sending me visitors.

I've had a few more visits and 2 more sales since the the first, so I'm not too downhearted!

hooperman, you may not have got to try Luke's suggestions. Sorry, his comment got flagged as spam and I only just noticed it and released the post.
