    Valuing a domain

    Hi,

I registered a new domain which is UCOMPAREIT.COM

I listed it on auction but how much do you think it is worth? Is there any method for valuing it?

    Thanks.

It looks to me like one of those domains that won't have any value to most people but might have a high value to someone who is looking to start a business that's well represented by the domain name. Sorry if that doesn't help. Maybe others have a thought or two on this.

I wouldn't know how to value it but I agree with Clinton, it could be very valuable to someone with a business that could be well represented by the name. It's quite good though, makes me want to think up a business to match to it! lol. I'm way to busy to start anything new but user generated reviews springs to mind.....AKA user generated content...drool.

Yea I kinda wanted to think up a website to go with the name but I quickly realised that I didn't have the time to!! I like the whole user generated thing, doesn't need as much time invested! Anyway if anyone does decide they have a use for the domain it's listed over at flippa.

$100 bid. Not bad. Suggestion: If you didn't want to go through the trouble of creating a comparison site you could put together a simple page with links to other comparison sites. That would make it a working site on which you could place some ads and possibly earn some money and make it more attractive to buyers.

Thanks for the idea, I will try that if the sale doesn't go through.

Which ones? The guys who say they want to buy your site but need an "independent" appraisal of the domain?
