Google +1 now in WMT and Google Analytics

    As per this blog post.

That could be mega useful, couldn't it?

Anyone here using +1? What's your experience? Is it slowing down page load times?

    Clinton,

Im using it on a couple of sites along with the analytic piece. Have not seen any negative impacts on page load times. However, I also have not seen much usage of it since June 1 when I installed it.

    Regards,
    Kyle

Going to have to seriously think about a test trial of some kind of nefarious click behaviour

First, +1 metrics in Google Webmaster Tools can show you how the +1 button affects the traffic coming to your pages:
The Search Impact report gives you an idea of how +1s affect your organic search traffic. You can find out if your clickthrough rate changes when personalized recommendations help your content stand out. Do this by comparing clicks and impressions on search results with and without +1 annotations. Well only show statistics on clickthrough rate changes when you have enough impressions for a meaningful comparison.
If they allow this to manipulate the results all I can say is thank god I have some dodgy friends.
