    Private Messages

What does everyone think about having email or popup alerts for private messages turned on by default? I know myself and at least one other aren't noticing our new private messages.

I've turned on alerts since, but I expected it to be on by default and I think new users might as well.

Sounds like a good idea. Unless there are some objections I'll turn on pop up alerts.

Please do, it's annoying not having them to be honest.

I've been looking in the control panel but can't seem to find where to turn this on. Is it integrated in vB or is it an add-on? Anyone knows? DomainMagnate? Peter?

I'm on my iPhone now. IIRC it's in the main options, but when you switch it, only new members from that poin on would be effected. Existing members need to change the settings manually.

Thanks but then I didn't find it in the main options so thought from his wording that there may be some IIRC option moved to elsewhere in this new version of vB.

    Nobody?

When I'm in the control panel looking at an individual account there is the "Browsing Options" section that deals with the PM popup. But when I go into editing the group there's no section for making edits to "Browsing Options".

tbh I find those alerts annoying.
I personally use the email notifications - works much better since you get an email once you get a new pm.
To enable those go to http://experienced-people.net/forums...do=editoptions and mark "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages", or if you want the popups to be displayed mark "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up"
