    Worst Best birthday

It was my birthday the other day and oh what a funny day it was.

I was having the day off so I was going to sleep in (which I did) but my phone rings at around 10.30am it's my sons school he fell off the climbing wall and hit his head on a table can we come pick him up.

So I go pick him up and get him home he's ok a bit of a bump and lots of blood but not too bad.

My brother rings around 1.30pm, telling me my niece has thrown up at kindy can I go pick her up as he is at work and well I am the only one around. So I go pick her up.

My wife rings at around 3pm she is stuck in a meeting can I go pick my daughter and other niece up from school. So I go pick them up, I let her know her son smacked his head which was a good enough reason to get out of the meeting lol.

So she gets home and my son (I think) puts on a bit of a sooky lala so she takes him to our doc (who is a wonderful doc) and he says oh we should get a scan so off to hospital they go.

So now I have 1 sick kid throwing up and 2 ok kids and no wife to make dinner (we had planned on going out to my favourite restaurant) no kids to do the dishes. So I start doing dishes and cooking tea (I love my cooking so that is pretty good I get my favourite meal for my bday lol)

My daughter rings up telling me she is crook so she won't be dropping over and I won't be seeing my grandson but he wants to sing me a happy bday on the fone. My grandson is 18months old and learning to talk, well he started singing happy bffdaaaaayyyy gruuuummmmppppyyyyy (he calls me grumpy) it was magical absolutely made my day.

So that makes it one of the best birthdays.

My son and niece are both doing fine just one of them days lol.

Why does your grandson call you Grumpy? I can't imagine how the name would suit you.

Ah, birthdays - I can see how it was all a bit of a hassle for you but you're clearly at the centre of your family and much loved and needed.

BTW, it's my birthday this month too (24th). Shall I post a wish list?

Is it OK to do a sooky lala if crook at kindy?

Who here is going to own up for having taught the Australians English?
(And don't look at us Indians, we have our own problems)

    Belated Happy Birthday, BTW

Kay that what I called my grandpa and when they asked me it was G-Pa or Grumps and I much prefer grumps. My 2 favourite t-shirts are ones the kids have bought me Mr Grumpy from the Mr Men show. It's kind of a dig because my wife is the one that yells at them hahaha

Yeah Clinton if you are an ankle biter you can do a sooky lala at kindy.

    Thanks for the wishes.

Belated happy birthday from me too, Grynge! Sounds as if you must have spent half the day driving round your neighbourhood.

Sooky lala is brilliant - never heard that one before.

    Happy Birthday grynge - belatedly.

Looks like you took what could have been a trying day in stride.

Similar here - all my kids call my father 'grampy', as do their cousins.

I've just had the best BEST birthday! (It's still my birthday if anyone would like to send a gift. )

First thing when I got out of my coffin and fired up the computer, was a lovely PM from Ken. Ha ha. That was a nice fun little gift. Much appreciated.

Then Dave and I had a snack of raw fish, with a bit of hot-tasting root vegetable and some brown juice.

We watched "Going Postal" - brilliant fun, especially for Terry Pratchett fans.

And later we plan to eat some curdled mammary secretions and fermented grape juice.

It doesn't get any better than this.

It was my birthday on Monday. My wife made me a nice meal (she went to the takeaway across the road) and bought me 6 bottles of strong Belgian beer. We went to bed and fell asleep, happy and contented. Somewhere around 3am, a side rail broke and the bed collapsed ...
