    Words you hate

I am not the best speller or grammar nazi in the world and I have a few words that I absolutely hate to spell, I nearly always get them wrong

collection (it just never ever looks correct)
theirs and theres (I always get them mixed up)
definitely (I always spell it definately)

I have a couple more but I have had too many drinks to remember them at this moment hahaha

Funny story a friend of mine is a grammar/spelling nazi and we were talking about how I hate definitely and I always spell it wrong, so he jumps up on his high horse oh that's an easy one definately hahaha I nearly fell over dead and he was very ashamed when he realised that he spelt it wrong hahahah.

Hey, Grynge. Gi's a pint of whatever it is you're drinking! hahaha

I'm not too bad at spelling and grammar but I'm married to the boss of the spelling and grammar police so I don't get away with making too many smelling pistakes.

In answer to your question, yes, there are a few words I have to think twice about.

    - privilege - it seems to me that it should have a "d" in it

    - occurred - really both the double "c" and "r"?

I can manage advice and advise, but for some reason practice and practise generally stop me in my tracks while I figure out whether it's a noun or a verb.

The most common speeling mistake I see online is people using 'you' instead of 'your'. They also use your instead of you're. My wife just got an email from her agency and the writer, writing about prices, had written hire instead of higher... that's pretty bad.

I don't have much problem with spelling and when I do Google helps me out but I'm really bad for transposing letters and have to reread anything I ever type and make corrections.

The words I do that most with are: adn, cna, os, ot, od, remebmer, form, regrads, htme and a few others probably...

    grynge,

I'm a habitually lousy speller and a worst typist so I don't care about that part. I just type and let the computer do the rest. Now. About words I hate...

    Nonplussed.

Hate it. Stupid word. Sounds stupid and means exactly the opposite of what it sounds like it should once the word is through grating on your ears.

I hate the word "wifge" too.

Lol funny story with your spelling nazi friend, grynge

About me, as a dyslexic I struggle with spelling, not to mention that English is not my first language.

Here are some of the words that I frequently misspell:

-Success (double C and double S confuse me)

-Lie, lay, laid, lain (I mix those all the time!)

-university (I often spell it univerCity)

-misspell (keep forgetting the double s)

    -definitely (same as grynge)

    -witch, which (lol I know)

    Plus lots more!

You're too modest, Theo. I've always been impressed by your writing and ability to get straight to the nub of any story and even innovate a new take on it.

Mostly I'm OK at spelling but some days my fingers seem to go mad and they type things that I never intended them to say. (That's my excuse anyway.)

As Kay took advantage of me last night in my drunken state (I know why they make the word inebriated so hard to spell for drunks)

Bare/Bear and that bloody "Bear with me" saying lol damn I hate that one.
