Valuing My Website After An Unsuccessful Flippa Auction

    PrescriptionSafetyGlassesInfo (dot) com.

Even though this website bores me to tears, I thought it would provide at least one person with a great niche website that they could enhance without much trouble and earn even more money than the site currently brings in.

For slightly more than the largest bid it did receive at auction ($150).

I thought I would ask those who value websites for potential investment on a daily basis what they think this site might be worth to them, as well as what they would do to make the site/auction sales letter/etc. more attractive in order to command a higher price at auction.

The link to the unsuccessful auction is below:

The site is on pace to do over $30 in Adsense revenue alone for the month of August and has quite a few links pointing to it.

    Your advice is greatly appreciated!

    Brendon

I'd feel comfortable paying more than $150 for the site, but not much more.

It would cost me less than $150 to build the site so personally I wouldn't have even bid $150 for it.

    $10 domain name
    $50 content
    $50 some paid blog posts

I think your listing is pretty solid. You certainly have the screen shots to back up your claims and you're very thorough. I definitely don't see a problem with your listing.
I'm a little surprised it didn't go for a little bit more...I would think someone would have thrown out a bid in the $200 range, but not too much more than that at this point.

My advice would be to sit on it for a bit longer to build up just a little more history for the site. If you could bump up the earnings a bit, $30-40/month, and show that consistent and increasing amount for another 6 months or so, you should be able to get somewhere in the $400-500 range.

The site itself could use a little tweaking as well. It's not horrible, but it could use a little adjustment. I'd adjust the theme to look less like a blog and more like an evergreen site. Things like dates on the post and the archives section, etc.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

I am going to sit on the site and try and work on some SERP movement for the site, I have been extremely busy with other sites and haven't shown this one the love it needs.

I may adjust the theme as well although that might affect the rankings so I hesitate to touch it but again it's a throwaway site for me so no big deal.
