    Yknow, I've noticed that KenW3 has two modes of writing - this is his Dubya mode. I prefer the Ken mode, which is more understandizable.

    It is not true - the students may have the same experiences as the teacher, but they sign up to learn because they don't know how to sort out their problems, although they tried.

    Methinks he means "one cannot adopt a pragmatic approach without having personal experience to validate the observations on which the methodology is based"'. It's not the analytical perspective that is missing - it's the lack of "experience", which I would translate as a lack of real data, which according to Ken can be approximated by studying a lot of real life cases instead of undergoing the trials of Job.

    In one sentence, "you can't beat knowledge based on "live" data - if that is not your own data, you have to base your assumptions on a very large sample of other peoples' data".
    After that, there's "If you can't sort out the mess of data, you need a teacher to show the thought processes needed".

    For some stupid reason, neither Ken nor myself could articularize that initially ...
