I'm interested in this site but would it be difficult to maintain for someone who only knows how to do wordpress sites?

it doesn't really need maintaining, just move it to your hosting, switch ad codes and that's it. Maybe add some new links from time to time to try to improve serps.
If you'd like to edit/rebuild stuff on your own it might be a bit complicated though as it uses a few custom scripts and databases.

it uses a few custom scripts and databases
Do the databases get updated automatically or would I have to buy them from time to time? If so, how hard would it be to update the information on the site? I presume that there is no additional cost for script. If so, how much would it be? Oh, and what is the reserve for this site?

it's all included, all dbs and content were inputted manually and coded specifically for the site. Again it's not the kind of site that'd require updates, but if you want to update stuff you can always do that through the files or phpmyadmin to edit the db. The reserve will stay private until it's met.. as a reserve should

Well, now that I see Ajeet has thanked it, the odds of me snagging a bargain have greatly declined.

I do tend to overpay (by Flippa standards) for sites that I really like. But the "custom scripts and databases" will keep me away from this until it is a bargain So, you are definitely in the race

I know it could be a pain messing with custom scripts, but here it's really not such a big problem since:
    1. you'll only need to update it when you transfer the site and as the auction says I'll help with that for free and after that you might just want to update it once a year (or never) and even then you can just hire a programmer for like $50 to do that.
    2. it's not that hard to add small changes. If you know some basic htm and used phpmyadmin before
    3. while all other sites use wp custom scripts may add quite a bit of uniqueness and make the site stand out, they could also help increase value if you end up reselling it to a big company, think of how much work was invested into coding those, compared to just setting up wp. Also the custom usually have functionality that others don't offer which is why they were coded in the first place.

I have a few other sites with custom scripts and dbs and I can tell you from experience it's a bit more complicated when wp, but once I spend an hour or two to learn how it works I can edit it fairly easily. If I wanted to change to change the design and scripts/features I would hire a programmer, but it's also the same with wp as I'd always hire someone to do a redesign or custom coding.
