Improving monetization on this soccer/football news/fan site

I'd like to discuss ways to improve the monetization for this site:
    arsenalinsider dot com

Specifically the subpages are where a lot of traffic is directed to by linking news sites. How to better monetize those visitors without them bouncing?

Currently the site is monetized with CPM only and was earning $.90 CPM. Seemed like there should be a possibility to at least double that rate, if not more. Possibly look at CPA instead? Thoughts?

That is a quite low rate. Aren't the betting offers CPA already though? They look like affiliate links, not CPM or CPC ads.

I think its a specialized CPM company that just does sports sites. They split the ad revenues with the site currently but .90 is what the split comes out to. One thing could be to change the split but I wonder if other ad methods would work better. Perhaps adding a subscription with some value and making fewer ads that are more optimally placed with revenue per click/or more revenue per impression?

I should add some of the links aren't setup as affiliates yet I think, so obviously enabling those will help.

Ad placement is always worth tinkering with if you are unhappy with ad performance.

A subscription model is a great way to make money, but do you think you can provide enough interesting content to get people to pay you for it?
