Assuming the high bidder is legit, how on earth did the bidding get so high in this auction?

The usual creative accounting has been applied to make the $2,790 gross revenue ** ALL PROFIT **!

Revenue comes in the way of sales on Flippa of turnkeys and also custom web projects. And as we all know, it takes no time to create, publish and run an auction and it takes no time at all to complete web projects. Since the seller does no work to make this money, it makes you wonder why they're selling their passive income machine.

    Am I missing something?

I am curious what the $3950 in inventory is, because if it is a couple PCs, a bunch of development software, or something similar, it might not be a bad deal for someone already in the web design business. Also, the domain is nice. Of course, we would need to know the actual costs before deciding what a reasonable price would be.

Regarding the lack of costs included by the seller, it's just another example of Flippa enabling (encouraging?) cheats and liars. I guess we are all supposed to go report the auction so Flippa's crack support staff can slap the seller on the wrist 3 days from now.

The "inventory" is several completed websites that they haven't put up for sale yet.

We are including 8 full websites as inventory which can be sold off by the new owner of aspenwebsites. The selling price for similar websites have been up to $495 per site
Honestly, sometimes I think I should just go to the dark side and join the scammers, it certainly doesn't seem very difficult to scam people, and with the work at home/unemployed desperately looking for a way to make money crowd out there getting bigger all the time there is no lack of marks to take advantage of.

tke, thanks for clearing that up. I'm not surprised, but I figured I would try (for once) to not automatically assume the worst, and I clearly did not read the auction listing very closely.

Either way, there's still not enough information about the expenses to know what a fair price would be, so I hope the bidders have done their homework and aren't just taking the claims of the seller as fact.

This auction should not have seen the light of day in its current form.

The WHOIS still hasn't changed so this may be just another non-payer.

I believe expectations are skewed by what people think sites sold for when, in reality, many of those transactions never completed.
