Purchase Contract and use of a Lawyer

Looking to buy a ecommerce site and need to bring a lawyer in to review the purchase agreement. I assume the lawyer deesn't need to be local to provide support on a transaction. Does anyone have a good firm they trust and have done trasntactions with?

Eugene? What country are you in? There are a few I've used I would be happy to recommend based on different price points.

    Thanks Ari.

I'm in the USA, in the Midwest. Hope that helps.

As I don't know your location, I cannot provide a link to your state's bar association nor see if they have a similar program. The way it works here in Florida is the Florida Bar Association has a Lawyer Referral Service run through their web site. They will refer an attorney for a flat fee. I haven't used this in a couple years, but the flat fee is very reasonable ($25.00) and is for a half hour of consultation to determine if you want to use the referred attorney's services or to get a quick answer on a legal issue.

I can ask for a referral to a copyright attorney, and end up getting a half hour for $25 to talk to some guy who charges two grand an hour. Of course, if I need more than a half hour, standard rates apply.

You can find out a lot about the expertise of an attorney, or a law firm, in a 30-minute interview by just walking in with the right questions I would suggest you call your state's bar association and ask how their program works for referrals.

This is how I have found attorneys to work with, by expertise needed.
