It's kind of funny , because i once had an offer on digitalpoint but directed the interested party to an auction on flippa since i thought flippa would command a higher bid, but it only reach about half of what the DP buyer was offering, and so i ended up selling on DP.

Like this one today caught my eye. He may even sell for $3K (<6x).

I know I already did this once for DP today, so sorry if this is old news already, but I haven't been there in awhile and just noticed they've made searching the marketplace a bit easier:

    http://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/

Seems to be a bit better organized and easier to find things...I still can't seem to find anything worth buying yet, but there's always that chance...

Yea I also considered this site today and talked to the owner. Something seemed suspicious.. maybe just because it's a .info and the site hasn't been updated for a while so revenues are going down.

Overall DP is one of the worst places to sell sites. People are very disrespectful of site owners. Not a problem for me since I don't sell and this could even be to my favor, but even as a buyer it bothers me. Simply very unprofessional.

From time to time i also go to DP but it´s too much confusion to filter information and find something good. I rarely found something there that i think could be a possible buy.

Marketplace option that bustiur mentioned improved it but not so much. DP could become much bigger but that would mean splitting and improving some sections.

I must admit in the past I have bought more from dp than sp/flippa, I find that you can find a real rough diamond with no traffic no turnover that just needs a little push to start making money. Early on I would pay $10 - $500 for something a little different and point a couple of decent links and I would be making $10 - $200 per month from adsense.

    Just stumbled onto this thread.

Clinton, did you manage to get that finance site back up to its former glory? If so, how did you do it?

I've always been way too skeptical of DP to buy anything of any value there. There seems to be a lot of scammers there.

DP is worst than Flippa, and about the same level as WF. I hate DP marketplace so much more than i hate Flippa (even if i'm beginning to hate Flippa more and more these days).

Flippa sucks because it's flooded with useless sites and the increasing number of sites being listed in a day on there (well i dont have the stats but it just seems like so...), i think that really contributes to the drop of overall market price for sites being sold on there (not to mention flippa's dishonest practice and "lenient" rules).

But DP sucks even more because no matter what happens in other marketplaces across the internet, the market price on there don't seem to "change". Buyers looking for dead cheap price for established sites, and then sellers looking for ridiculously high price for sites that make a few dollars a day. And what i hate the most about DP marketplace is the people who comment on the listings. You'll always see someone trashing someone's website on a listing, usually saying things like "i can make a site like that in an hour, your website sucks, i'll take the site for $50". They do this to purposely make sellers feel inferior about their sites and lower their price. That is just so unprofessional and annoying and it happens all the time. Or, "your site doesn't load" (this one's for the sake of increasing posts count!).

And i hate seeing people posting WTB threads looking to buy sites that are making "at least" $250 per month and offering $300 for it. Only once in a while will you find good genuine sites for sale on there. And also, i believe genuine buyers usually don't post a WTB thread. And i don't think the upgrades did anything much to the forum. What they need to do is to get rid of the one-liner posters and encourage members to post "valuable" posts rather than "nice site" (buy/sell websites section) or "can i have review copy?" (ebooks section).

hi dbqinc, and welcome to experienced-people.net

Shawn is very devoted to those one line posters. I believe he takes great pride in his forum being the largest webmaster forum in the world. If he banned such posts/posters that forum would shrink quite considerably as they have many good posters, but he also has the world's largest collection of idiots.

If both DP and Flippa have major faults you may be interested in the discussion we have in the private groups on an alternative marketplace (when you build 10+ posts drop me a reminder and I'll send you an invite)

Thanks. I'm looking forward to that... i've been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks now i think.. i think i like this place so much better than places like DP or WF. And it's good that you guys actively discuss flippa's weaknesses and stuff, otherwise things like that will go unnoticed and flippa themselves otherwise will think that they can get away with anything and everything.
