Finding aged Clickbank sites to work with

    Hi folks,

I had a great chat with Justin of FlipFilter.com the other night and he suggested that I try hunting down a Clickbank product site for my next purchase. Specifically one that was aged and perhaps was pushing a product that was ageing and losing gravity.

Sounds great but I don't really have any idea how to go about doing this; I was going to start by trawling through Clickbank Marketplace to find something low gravity that way.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Try finding two clickbank products in a similar niche, search for the names of both products with the names in double quotes, and start looking from page 10 of the search - look for references that indicate the site has not been updated for months - that's one way.

Why don't you approach the sellers of these products...perhaps in places like Warrior Forum if you can find old threads where the owner made a special offer and then investigate to see if the product is still selling well or not?

A different question is why would you want to buy a failed and decaying CB product site?

I'd imagine you can pick up some good deals. People will sell their forgotten projects for peanuts (far less than it would cost you to build yourself). Often all it will take is a fresh sales copy, a few tweaks to the product and some time spent on affiliate recruitment and you can have a profitable site in no time.

Obviously this isn't for everyone, but if your budget is relatively low and you're prepared to work, I can see how the ROI could be very solid.

Personally and I do not pretend to know more than an expert on the matter but my approach would be as follows.
I would find some clickbank products that worked for me, something I could actually see myself selling and was able to be passionate about. I would then look for old domains that were being dropped or up for auction. Failing that I would look for forgotten, aged domains in my niche that were not monetized.

Not to be disagreeable meathead but peanuts, even if we call that $200? You can do a lot with $150 and a website, assuming the domain is decent and in good standing. However I am probably just showing my inexperience and perhaps people sell on sites for like $30 or something.
My sole reservation about this method would be once I find my sites, if I narrow down 10 I might actually clinch a deal on three and murphys law they wont be something I am passionate about. However the upshot is if the aff products are already on site and its just changing account details you wont have to qualify. Qualifying to sell a click bank problem is seldom a hurdle though, if it requires qualification at all.

Exactly my goal. Pick up a site, product and affiliates for much less than it would cost to build. Polish it up, add a product range and sell it on!

When looking for aged sites (not specifically clickbank or anything) what I used to do was look for old scripts/software that was freely available years ago and try and find old versions of those scripts, most free scripts have a footprint, for example a text link at the bottom referencing the script and version, you can use this to find older neglected sites running old scripts that have probably been long forgotten about and bought cheaply. Just google the footprint, I made a post a few years ago on the subject, can't find it just now.

    Edit: found it.
