@Crabfoot Sir, Thank you! I had never heard of SeaMonkey Navigator, but have now.

Safari works fine in all post areas.

A quick note here, had a problem with my browser crashing after trying to post. I didn't use autosave but I do have a plugin called Lazerous (sp) -
it has helped me out on several occasions.

In the reply box you may not have noticed these little icons:

    format.gif

The second one deletes all formatting of the text (useful when you're copying and pasting from Word)

The first one allows you to switch between standard mode and source code mode.

As I have not been a member for long I dont know if the 'new posts' button is new or not, but it certainly is useful and saves me trawling thru all the forum looking for stuff I havent already seen. Wish some other forums I use had this feature

Do vB have any plans to sort out the bug, or are they passing the buck to Mozilla? My cursor's still disappearing in the text entry fields you mention, and it's a real pest.

I haven't seen much on this yet. I don't know if the vB code is the problem or if it is Mozilla, but testing has determined that the only browsers with this problem are based on Mozilla code. I haven't found anything that explains why everything works except Mozilla, so I do not yet know the cause.

I use FireFox most of the time (because using FlashBlock speeds up browsing and I capture useful video using DownloadHelper). I have, however, gotten into the habit of logging into EP with IE since this problem surfaced a couple months back.

Apparently the bug was fixed in version 4.1.10
VBIV-13545 Cursor in WYSIWYG editor disappears when using arrow keys to move it
    Thats the bug tracker link.
Then there came a time, of Kings, Empires and Revolutions, blood just looks the same when you open the vein.

Just a mention in passing - before it was fixed, I found out that the bug happened with Win 7, but not with XP. Macro$hite creating problems for the world to solve again?

Thanks, everyone. I will update vB in due course.

The last time I did a backup and update a few things got broken and a few other things needed tweaking to keep working. Just in case it turns out to be time intensive again I want to make sure I have the time available before I start the next upgrade.
