Results of The First Online Olympics - Flippa Infographics Style

VIP Members are familiar with the interesting/heated discussion we're having in this thread about Flippa's blog post: State of the Website Economy: Which Niches Sell at a Premium? (Infographic)

Well, anyway, that seemed like a good format to present the results of the WORLD'S FIRST ONLINE OLYMPICS.

    Kay couldn't be faster than Benitez17 - she's still using dial-up!

This is a complete sham ...

I could not agree more with @crabfoot on this.

This is an appalling attempt to deceive new users to this forum and make them think that making posts give them any chance of appearing in future infographics. I'm very disappointed. Very, very disappointed.

Firstly, your claim that athletes spend more on sport activities than Internet Marketing is rubbish. It cannot be true and I expected you included too many athletes who were not really athletes at all and spend more of their time on activities more commonly classified as "adult" ... just to make your forum look better.

You've also been incredibly deceptive in your use of the term high-jump. I really doubt Clinton could leap almost 3 times higher than Kay, and your graph lacks any sort of authority as it excludes meathead1234 who would beat any of these guys. I see you've also relegated the measure to the fine print ... even though any one of us with any level of elite experience knows that atmospheric pressure is most commonly measured in Pascals. As professionals, we may be able to see this but new users to this forum have no idea and will not be able to interpret this graphic properly. I maintain its worthy of an investigation by the UK equivalent of the Australian Sport Commission. Obviously for the owners of this forum, its all about the money.

While I can accept that the content so far has been done to get publicity for this forum, the fact that you've included Usain Bolt at the end is just cheap and at best designed to rip off new visitors. We know that Usain Bolt isn't even a member of this forum and when he runs the 100m, the time is professionally audited. I doubt there was even a stopwatch present when the others ran 100m, if they finished.

All this, on the back of a new forum logo and weekly email spam to users makes me think the owners here are getting very desperate to keep members ... which is obviously on a downward spiral as users abandon the forum in droves due to stunts like this. Why else would the owners resort to "marketing"?!

    ...

On a serious note, wishing members of EP a happy and safe Xmas and best for 2012.

This thread brought tears to my eyes. Tears of laughter! I could hardly read it I was laughing so much. Thank you for a great day. It's the best thing that's happened since the guys finally fixed the internet connection earlier today after three days of fiddling about with the phone lines outside. No more dial up for me! I'm as fast as anyone now - until the next time it breaks.

I can easily jump 6m. (Downwards into a soft landing.)
More Menu Madness - it makes you want to ask for the "check please".

Thanks for the reminder to take up running in 2012, Clinton. Mark me down for next year's 100 metre dash!

(That's it for me for 2011, guys. Merry Christmas, and talk to y'all on the other side of New Year's Eve.)
