Given a Flippa API, what data would be useful to you

In another thread I brought up the issue of the Flippa API and am awaiting a reply from Andrew (from Flippa).

In the meanwhile I'd appreciate your suggestions for what data you'd find useful. For example, I could track

    1. For each site listed .... whether it came up for sale in the past ....and provide data from those previous listings
    2. For sites that have sold, whether their WHOIS details got changed over (so several months later if the WHOIS hasn't changed it could be worth approaching the seller)
    3. Sellers and their claimed connections - a nice connections map perhaps?

I don't know what data Flippa provides and, of course, whether they'd allow access to their API . But what information would you like to see extracted?

It really depends on what information they allow.

Any association of links in bidders, commenters and sellers accounts.
IPAddress of sellers, bidders and commenters looking for similar ip classes.
ReverseDNS of sellers, bidders and commenters looking for similar ISP's
Then there came a time, of Kings, Empires and Revolutions, blood just looks the same when you open the vein.

Hey guys (and happy new year!). Access to our API is actually not a top-secret thing; you can apply for it by getting in touch with Dave.

Actually, it may not be a secret thing but the last time this discussion came up your predecessor, Luke, gave us to understand that access to the API would depend on what plans we had for it. I took it to mean that if data extracted and published worked in Flippa's interest then it would be allowed, otherwise not.

If that has changed and we are free to extract data that our members find useful then I'll follow this up.
