Website Buyers - would you like to see feeds like these?

Try out this one from Flippa and this one from DNF.

It's in test mode and still needs some tweaking, but you get the general idea. The DNF one has just one example day, but I've had the Flippa one running for a few days to collect some data. This particular feed shows all sites listed in Flippa claiming $1000 pm or more. It comes in with each listing showing up as an individual post, but all posts for the day could be consolidated into one thread (as I've done manually here for the last few days).

Obviously there's been no fine tuning of listings, no weeding out etc. This is just the raw feed.

But would you like to see such feeds collected together here from multiple locations?

    Yes.

That's a great tool. I would prefer to see auctions grouped for the day but you are already thinking about it.

To answer a question that came up elsewhere ...

Flippa'a feed is used as an example here. It's not going to be mainly about Flippa. Flippa would constitute only a fraction.

If the idea is popular there'd be feed from brokers, feeds from other webmaster forums that have website selling sections, feeds from domain forums like NamePros and AcornDomains etc. The idea is to not be a banner for Flippa but to bring together sites being listed for sale at different marketplaces.

    Yes, this would be great.

It would allow a central discussion point for website buyers on the forum about listings instead of several fragmented posts.

It may make browsing easier if it's one listing per post. This would avoid an additional click to open another date thread (and then remember which dates were viewed), and would also make finding posts with replies easier.

Yes, I agree that it should be one listing per post. That would make discussion much easier as well.

It could be worth adding an 'exclude' to new posts eg search.php?do=getnew&exclude=15 or whatever forum they are in.

Its good to have for sure, but could split to 'new sites for sale' and 'new posts' if that makes sense?

Posts excluding feeds: What we currently have in the nav bar "New Posts"

Posts including feeds: This will show the bot threads when there are bot threads (sometimes there aren't any)
