Why is it Sitepoint posters have the impression that the owners aren't into censoring? Sure they allow the odd negative comment, but when it looks like it'll have an impact on the bottom line, they delete comments, close threads, block comments and even remove complete threads. (Anyone here remember the discussion about Flippa thread that they completely pulled?)
At Flippa it's not Matt closing the comments and deleting the threads, it's Dave and Luke, but it's just as despicable especially on threads that mislead newbies (and swell Flippa's coffers by doing so).
They've done it in Flippa this time with the Ed Dale post. We've been discussing it in this thread here and it's obvious that the bloke is trying to get away with a lot of slimy promotion designed as education. Flippa let my original comment in that thread stay - "see what nice guys we are, we can take negative comments" but slyly deleted other posts of mine that were less "forthright" - and closed the thread (not something they normally do with threads). They ensured they gave the last (rather useless) word to Ed himself.
It's their site and they can do what they like with it, but Luke, we aren't idiots and don't buy the comments you make in this thread blaming your anti-spam systems. Why don't you just admit you block, delay and delete comments.
If this forum didn't exist to expose the tricks you've been up to I dread to think what other stunts you'd be pulling.
For anyone wanting to discuss a Flippa blog post, it seems to make sense to do it here rather than on Flippa.
