Clinton - I did ask you to do a blog post back in December. You referred me to your excellent valuing post on SitePoint.

If any of you would like to submit an outline for consideration, then I invite you to do so.

I felt that the Ed Dale article comments had run their course so I closed them - after all, it's a blog, not a forum. Everyone clearly stated their position and I think it's time to move on.

Do you have any plans to allow Ed to revise his post? He did admit that he made one mistake, and if you compare his responses to me to his initial post, it's pretty clear that what he wrote in his post was incomplete (to put it mildly).

Luke made contact with me late last year and asked if I would be interested in writing a guest post for Flippa. He's also suggested doing a case study of some sort with me.

But no, I can't recall being asked to write a blog post.
Similarly.... Luke contacted me for a meeting with him and Dave in early December last year after I aired concerns about the marketplace. We discussed a variety of issues and I felt they genuinely wanted to understand and make improvements on many fronts.

Luke, yes, I remember you contacted me by email inviting me to write a guest post, but that was when you were confusing me with someone else

    I replied
Luke, er, I'm Clinton! Remember? The guy you wanted to phone/gtalk?

Sure, if you want a guest post, I would consider it and we could pre-agree a topic. ...Re. valuing websites, I've already had more than a few words to say about it in the Sitepoint article. Have you read it yet?
You hadn't. You were not aware it existed. So you then went and read it "cover to cover".

But I did agree to do a guest post then. What I was unwilling to do was wildly encourage people to invest money in something that is not right for them. I had forgotten the exchange but just called up all those emails. My last reply on the matter was on the 14th of December:
The main thing I have is my reputation. I'm reluctant to associate it with what you are doing. So, sorry, I am going to have to pass...
So, technically, yes, I suppose you invited me to write a guest post. Not a guest post of my choosing but an Ed Dale type of post. And when you sent the invitation you thought you were sending it to someone else. I'm not counting that.

Michelle, I got the impression too that they genuinely wanted to make improvements to the marketplace, and they have made improvements. But would you venture a guess as to why you, I, 3Six and others (who aren't vested interests) don't have blog posts there right now?

Luke, you want material for blog posts? I'll give you permission to reproduce material from the experienced-people.co.uk site, you said it was a "great resource". There's tons and tons of stuff on there: due diligence information, articles on scams, descriptions on taking over and moving a newly bought site, dispelling common myths etc. You up for it?

Clinton it's no secret that I do sell products related to site flipping and so there is a vested interest, and I have indeed written a post for Flippa but I couldn't get away with a link straight to my sales page but to my blog is good too. I'm not your typical marketer when it comes to this business but I am still a marketer none the less. Rest assured though that I'm just as big a party pooper in my own forum as I am here. (Listing a site with misleading revenue and traffic stats is not getting any applause in my forum either let me tell you!)

I think the influence we're collectively having on Flippa here and via our various individual conversations with them is huge. They've proven they're willing to listen and are flexible and nimble enough to bring about positive changes. If that influence can extend to the blog by way of guest posts then I'm all for it but I do understand your point about managing reputation.

Michelle, you need to lower your standards a bit if you want to be taken seriously.

If any of you would like to submit an outline for consideration, then I invite you to do so.
I've already offered in this post, I'm awaiting your reply, Luke.

Thanks Clinton, very kind of you, I will definitely keep it in mind.

    3Six, I think that's a No

I'm surprised Luke didn't refute your claim of "delete comments, close threads, block comments and even remove complete threads"
