These Cary Bergeron disciples are DANGEROUS

I have seen a number of these sites turn up on Flippa recently, and in my opinion the buyers of these sites could get burned bad by this tactic.

It is clearly an Adsense violation to have ads above the fold in the manner this seller has them. I would argue that the vast majority of the clicks these sites receive are also above the fold.

The seller makes a very nonchalant comment that the new owner 'should' change this, while also mentioning how sweet his footer link performs.

    Felonious.

My experience with Adsense footer links has always been awful, and although this site has a ton of content,, the new owner is going to have to adjust those ad positions which will have a big impact on earnings.

I can't believe someone paid $6000 for this listing.

If Cary Bergeron is teaching this type of garbage he should be ashamed of himself. But does the syndicate rreally care anyway? I know the above the fold rule is new, but this is almost the tenth site I've seen where they brag about being in the 'guild' and how effective this program is.

    Buyer beware. Seller good riddance.

    No-way is that BIN legit.

Bidding jumped from $35 to $6000 which is rare.

The revenue is also completely misleading (as you point out) due to the new Adsense TOS. I see 3 ads above the fold which I'm pretty sure won't be allowed anymore.

What rule is that? I cannot find anything that concerns above the fold ad placement other than the algorithmic penalty in SERPs.

I'm just curious. I barely use Adsense but I wouldn't want to lose it just because I have an ad on some obscure site above the fold.

There was a mention of AdSense changes, with a couple of useful links, in the EP thead

I'm aware of that, but that is an algorithmic change. Where is the violation?

In that case, you may be looking for more information on Ad Placement Policies from Google. This site does violate recommendations, and it seems the seller recognises this. Also, where advice and algo changes from G are concerned, it often seems better to consider those to be rules and not just recommendations, due to consequences.

Yes, of course. What has alerted me was that the OP mentioned a violation (though he didn't specifically say it's a violation of TOS). I'm not as much concerned about this site as my use of Adsense and prospective violation of TOS, being that I pay so little attention to Adsense.

    Anyway, that's for the clarification.

If there's nothing wrong with this Adsense placement then, dhigler, is there a different problem with the site you quoted in your OP?

My methods are sound and they have proven to work every single time. I don't beleive any guild member has had their accounts banned for ad placement either.

More proof that my system works

Just felt the need to defend a solid money making system from the naysayers

    Good day...

Hello Cary and welcome to EP

What methods are you referring to as "proven to work every single time" and what system are these links proof about?

Are you defending the adsense guild membership 12-week program to "Adsense riches" you are selling over at adsenseguild or your own method of selling the sites you listed on flippa?

I'm afraid your post did more to confuse readers than helped clear things and at least I would be very interesting to know more. I must admit I wasn't signed to your newsletter until I read this thread so I haven't formed an opinion about you and your methods yet.
