This lot are feeling the pressure from Google's punishing sites for their backlink profile. TLA have modified their system now to require webmasters to delete links on advertisers' demands. Don't delete the link and they will ban your complete site from their network!

Deleting links on demand has suddenly become a huge issue. This is pure backlash from the Google emails warning webmasters about unnatural linking!

And I wonder how much longer TLA will last now, I've just lost the last of the links I'd sold through them. Does anyone still use TLA and do you still have active links?

I only have one site with text-links kind of as a test and it still has 4 out of 4 spots sold.
I got out of bed today staring at a ghost. Who forgot to float away, didnt have all that much to say. Wouldn't even tell me his own name.

This is a really interesting discussion. I think we'd all agree that G has been against TLA for a long time. In the past they penalised sites for running TLA ads. Now it seems to have gone a step further in these post-Penguin times.

Will TLA survive? It's possible, but anyone who relies on G is most likely not to bite the hand that feeds them and therefore dump TLA (as I did several years ago). If you don't rely on G for traffic and/or income, then why not use TLA? Whether TLA can survive or not depends on how many webmasters can afford to thumb their nose at G. And there's still a lot of people who chase free traffic from G so my guess is that, given the ultimatum of choosing one or the other, most people would still choose G. It doesn't bode well for TLA.

I don't know if it's a straight case of a Google vs TLA choice. If you aren't ranking in Google or Google traffic isn't converting for you, are you going to miss out on real $$ every month on the off chance that your ranking is going to improve? I doubt it.

Most TLA links buyers are buying links usually for SEO purposes, but I do see that in the longer term sheer idiotic mass Google worship (and Google FUD) will destroy the sensible business of buying and selling of links for traffic. That is annoying.

But I'm going off-topic here so I'll stop.
