I was wondering whether domains with the .travel suffix are worth getting as a long term investment? I see that there are many good names still available for the tour attractions, destinations, etc. in the countries I work in.
Also, given good links, key wording and all the other SEO tools, will .travel domains rank as well as .com names in google, assuming all SEO work is equal for a given name. Eg www.tikal.com versus www.tikal.travel ?
Don't think so, I can't see this tld ever becoming popular. Like in any tld there is a limited number of top generic words that are valuable, ones that make sense with the specific extension and can be sought after by end users, so if you can grab one of those it's worth the effort. But the list is very limited, e.g. something like asia.travel; india.travel etc, but my guess they are all taken.
I appreciate what you're saying Domainmagnate. I do have one name in particular that's available and is a major destination so I'll go ahead and get that one.
