Need some advice on a domian I want to sell

    Hi everyone.

I need a little advice on a domain name I want to sell.

The domain is --- CustomBuiltBlogs [dot] com. The site is crap, but it does rank #1 Page 1 on google for the keyword phrase--- custom built blogs----. This is the who is info, its a little over a year old:

    Registrant:
    Domains by Proxy, Inc.
    DomainsByProxy.com
    15111 N. Hayden Rd., Ste 160, PMB 353
    Scottsdale, Arizona 85260
    United States

    Domain Name: CUSTOMBUILTBLOGS.COM
    Created on: 29-Jan-09
    Expires on: 29-Jan-11
    Last Updated on: 25-Dec-09

I've never sold a domain flat out so I have no idea how to value it and therefore no idea what to ask for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Frank

That's the type of domain that could go for thousands to the right buyer, or for peanuts if you don't find the right buyer. If you luck out and find someone who's starting up a service to build bogs for people, the domain might be worth gold to them, and if they have the money, you could end up with a deal in the four figures. However, if you put it up for sale in the usual domain marketplaces, you're likely to not even get a nibble if you offer it for a hundred bucks. So, I'd say your focus would be on finding the right buyer more than how much it's worth.

    Thanks Peter,

Is there a way or are there companies/people who could act as a broker, since I've never sold just a domain before? Maybe even someone on this forum. I have no problem paying a reasonable commission, even though I don't know what "reasonable" is in this type of situation ......LOL

I've brokered domains before, but I wouldn't take this one on. There'd be too much leg work involved. Plus, I prefer representing the buyer when I work in the domain industry, because despite what the domainers say, it's a buyer's market.

WSYSBroker is a broker. Any others around? I must say, though, that brokers tend not to get involved unless they think the site/domain could get more than their threshold. Otherwise it's not worth their time and effort trying to find a buyer. 10% of $50 is not really worth taking on ($50 is just a random figure and not meant to suggest the value of your domain).
