    Abbreviations used on these boards

    I've got a glossary of terms used in the buying/selling of websites but this sticky is for the abbreviations people are likely to come across in our threads. Please add your suggestions

    AS = Adsense
    BE = Break Even
    BH = Black Hat (SEO method that's not necessarily approved by the SEs)
    CB = ClickBank Affiliate Network
    CJ = Commission Junction Affiliate Network
    CMS = Content Management System
    CR = Conversion Rate
    DP = Digital Point Forums

    IP = Intellectual Property or Internet Protocol (the unique number that identifies your connection to the net)
    IM = Internet Marketing
    JV= Joint Venture
    JVP= Joint Venture Partner
    MFA = Made for Adsense
    MO = modus operandi (not strictly a website buying term but it does crop up on these boards)
    NPB = Non Paying Bidder (someone who wins an auction at somewhere like Flippa and then absconds)
    OP = Original Post / Original Poster
    PPC = Pay Per Click (also used to mean "Pills, Porn and Casino" i.e pharma, porn and gambling - legal sectors that aren't universally approved or liked)
    ROI = Return on Investment
    SE = Search Engine/s
    SP= Sitepoint Forums
    SEO = Search Engine Optimization
    SERP = Search Engine Result Page
    TTM = Trailing Twelve Months (revenue)
    UGC = User Generated Content
    WH = WhiteHat (SEO method approved by the SEs)
    WP = Wordpress
    WSO = Warrior Special Offer (products offered by members of the Warrior Forum to other members )
    YOY = Year on Year

    Others
    WHOIS = (used to mean) Domain Ownership Details more
    Pr0n = Porn
    Slippa = Sitepoint (SP) + Flippa

    Came here for an answer and didn't find it above? Post your abbreviation related question below if it's on-topic for this forum.

    Slippa = Sitepoint (SP) + Flippa
    As Sitepoint and Flippa are owned by the same people, work from the same offices and share common goals, I thought it would be convenient to have a single word to represent them.

    That reminds me..... I noticed your glossary doesn't have 'Shill Bidder' in it. There must be at least as many shills in Flippa as NPBs.

    Oops!

    OK, I've corrected it, thanks.

    Peter, shill bidding is a term not unique to website auctions. But if you want to coin one for shill bidding on Flippa - like 3Six's efforts on Slippa - be my guest. And may it eventually reach the OED.
