Clinton - thank you for your time and valuable due diligence. This forum has been very helpful and educational, although a bit high tech at times for the likes of me. Still, I want to learn and will keep at it.

I am committed to trying Ecommerce and will look for something small and established as opposed to a template and a promise.

Thank you all for your feedback and time.

I think the particular buyer (who later wanted to sell) got a fair deal... especially considering he was completely new to internet marketing and he ranked for a household, yet commercial keyword.
That's good that the buyer is happy, but I don't think buying a site at a 36 month multiple of profit is a very good deal, especially when it requires a 1 - 2 hour per day time commitment. That's not bad at all, but it's not a good deal either in my opinion.

I hear ya benitez17, he was willing to accept 50k(ish) but it still didn't make sense to me. But considering most people who try to step into the "online world" and buy established websites get scammed or end up with flaming piles of dog doo doo - I'd say he did alright.

Not by our standards, of course...(we're all a bunch of sharks!)

<added> just to clarify, the original seller "Avid" sold it for $65k to the individual I was talking with. He may have taken around $50k.. but I believe he didn't find a buyer and held onto it.

You must forgive us when we slip into tech talk. Just ask if there's anything unclear.
