EMD, 6000 exact searches, £1k product

So I've been looking for sites.

I have an EMD .net for a piece of equipment. It gets 6,000 searches globally 1,000 of which are in the UK. The equipment sells for up to one thousand pounds for a commercial version and from ten pounds for a cheapo home version.

Googles tools rates the competition as medium for the keyword and looking at the first page of results there is only one truly relevant result plus amazon who are selling versions of the product.

I think my strategy will be to write a bunch of articles around the, very dry, subject matter and then kick a fiverr link wheel or UAW wizard gig at it.

I'll see if any traffic emerges and if it does I'll try geo-targeted amazon ads. If that gets sales I'll look at potentially drop shipping in future.

Does this look promising? It seems a bit too good to be true. A .net EMD available for a high value, decent traffic term.

looks like a reasonable approach to me - but the way I'm going that's not an "authority comment"!

My best advice is to get as much content on the site as you can from the start - don't try to build it up one page at a time.

If there's only one relevant competitor, watch out for dirty tricks - that might be why there's only that one result you can see.

Yeah, guess I'll give it a bash and see how it goes. It's not that there is even any serious competitors, apart from a general amazon page, pushing to sell this way. The .com, .org are being used to target Greece and Germany respectively and the .co.uk is ranking well but is just an information site on the goods rather than anyone trying direct sales. All the other rankings are irrelevant sites which happens to use parts of the name or similar sounding words but won't be what people are looking for.

So I think I do, hopefully, have a chance to build something useful and relevant to searchers with a high value product sale possible at the end.

I've been tapping away at a few articles but it is a very dry niche and I don't have any real insider knowledge. It's not anything important though, it's not like a medical topic where it would unethical to advise someone badly. I guess I can just get creative and apply liberal sprinklings of "product reviews" and "this product is great for".

I'll let everyone know how it goes.
